The month of March isn’t known for much in the way of holidays, well except perhaps Saint Patrick’s Day. You may not even have known that March 20th is the International Day of Happiness. But now that you do, a great way to add some happiness to the rest of this year is with a new HVAC system. It may be near the end of the high heating costs, but summer isn’t that far away, and that’s when you’ll face the high cooling costs. If your HVAC system is old and inefficient, get happier with a new energy-efficient one.

“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” -Mahatma Gandhi

If you have been thinking you hate those high utility bills, and saying you hate those high utility bills, but you do nothing about them, you are not in harmony. Today’s HVAC systems are far more energy-efficient than those just a few years ago. The Department of Energy sets energy conservation standards for HVAC units, and manufacturers are required to produce units that meet or exceed those standards. North Carolina is in the southeast region, and the new standards that are expected to go into effect soon will require at least a 14.5 SEER for new HVAC systems and 15 SEER for heat pumps.

The rule of thumb for installing a new HVAC system is to get the highest SEER you can that fits into your budget. Not only will you enjoy the most utility cost savings, but your home will also feel more comfortable and enjoyable. Let our team at Sky HVAC help you make this change and have you dancing a happy dance this March and right through the summer and winter seasons for years to come.
